Yamaha YXZ 1000R S&B Particle Separator is the ultimate accessory to keep your filter clean and maximize the life of your engine!
This is the same technology military helicopters use to maintain power in extremely dusty conditions and is now available for yourYamaha YXZ! S&B’s Particle Separator ejects 94% of dust from the airflow prior to it reaching the stock filter.*
Step 1
Dirty air enters the Particle Separator’s 19 vortexes.
Step 2
The air is spun as it enters the vortex. Centrifugal force throws the dust against the outer sides of the tube where it exits through a rear slot. The clean air continues forward through the tube which is centered inside the vortex.
Step 3
The clean air is directed to your stock air filter while the scavenge fan ejects the dust through the exhaust. The Scavenge Fan draws only 3.1 amps and is specially rated for 50,000 hours in harsh conditions including water, dust & snow.
A picture tells a thousand words.
We ran two RZRs and two YXZs in Ocotillo Wells, CA to demonstrate the difference the S&B Particle Separator makes. Below are the results.
Polaris RZR 1000 Test
Polaris RZR 1000 | No Particle Separator | Particle Separator Installed |
---|---|---|
Grams of Dust Accumulated | 76.1 | 1.4 |
Miles Driven | 83 | 152.2 |
Yamaha YXZ Test
Yamaha YXZ | No Particle Separator | Particle Separator Installed |
---|---|---|
Grams of Dust Accumulated | 61.1 | -0.3 |
Miles Driven | 146.4 | 145 |

Lab Tested.
Our testing showed that the Polaris RZR 1000 hit capacity (10″ of H20 above initial restriction) after only 73 grams of dust.
With the S&B Particle Separator installed, over 2,536 grams of dust can be consumed before the stock filter reached its capacity.*
-
Dyno Tested.
We put our system to the test on a Super- Flow Chassis Dynamometer and saw zero loss in horsepower compared to stock.
This means with the Particle Separator installed, you’ll start off just as strong and quickly outperform the rest as their stock filter loads with dust.**

RAM AIR. Flow More Air.
The S&B Particle Separator also allows your UTV to engulf more air. Testing was conducted on a 2014 RZR 1000 with the unit mounted on the upper roll bar. Since it is difficult to hold an exact RPM/MPH, all the numbers listed below will vary.
CFM (Cubic Feet Per Minute) | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|
RPM | MPH | Stock | w/ Particle Separator | % Increase |
5500 | 31 | 29 | 40 | 37.9% |
6200 | 50 | 41 | 66 | 61.0% |
8500 | 60 | 146 | 170 | 16.4% |
